The answer all have given is eight. My question is what McIntosh is it? Do not mess with it. Worth having it professionally gone through to realize its potential.

Ah, no, it was just a representative pic. lol
I didn't want to use the tasty little Viking receiver I got because I feared suspicion of flogging my new toy ... playing with the cover on one did prod my question must admit. All snug again (have bottom off).
Do not be fearful of us. We all have pieces that are not labeled Rolls Royce. A few will possibly make snyde remarks but just ignore them. Some of the nicest sounding systems are comprised of garbage saves, console pulls, bits and pieces of broken units, brands that years ago nobody would publicly show off. Sometimes such discussions alert us of some unrecognized treasure. I remember when brands like Fisher, Sherwood, Magnavox, VM, and, numerous others were not mentioned in polite company.

Well in that case let me gloat ... This Viking integrated is sweet!!!
I hooked it up to Realistic Mach 1 afraid it would blow up only to find absolutely rock solid stable operation, all control whistle clean, locks on to fm signal and keeps it ... just don't go to disco levels and it's fine, and with a nice weighty bottom end ...
... and forget about purist, Just turned "On" is also the lowest treble setting, so you constantly adjust the treble whenever you turn it on! LOL
... after a while, depending on conditions, you just dial in the sound with treble and bass controls and get just what you want every time ... beauty
... the AKAI 80 w amp on the Mach 1 was a perfect match when first heard, great (chip) amp ... it's back now but you known there's just something about the sound with the Viking ...
... I consider this my second best steal ... my Tannoy Arden (home made box) are first.
That is one really nice looking unit and nothing to feel ashamed about. The faceplate looks new. I can see you going through it in terms of caps and a good alignment and making a really nice wood case.

Looks sweet -
I picked up an old Pilot Tuner -Pre, but alas it is mono, like my old fisher stuff....
Depending upon where in the dial you are listening - Mono can sound better...
