I have decided to keep the Rotel integrated. The seller offered me a partial refund because of noisy pre-amp. Last evening I hooked up the power amp to my HT receiver pre-out. This works fine, and I don't really need the Rotel pre-amp with this setup. Will I do any harm to the amp if I use only the power amp and allow the defective noisy pre-amp to idle?
Follow Ups:
If the problem is only in the pre-amp section - and using the HT bypass to get to the amp works - then you are probably Fine using just the amp-
It may also be the case that the pre-amp fix is reasonble to fix...

Thanks and thanks also for your response at Amp/Preamp. I do plan to get the amp repaired, but I will probably not be able to get to it for a while and would like to use the power amp in the meantime. But I don't want to blow anything up!
