Racal receivers were multi-kilobuck units. RA17 wasn't listed in Fred Osterman's 1993 tome "Shortwave Receivers Past & Present". However, an RA6772 from 1978 was $5500 new, $1400 used; RA6778 was $6995 new, $2500 used (no date listed). RA6830 was current model, but no price was listed. RA6772 & RA6778 were designed for 19" rack mounting, whereas you could fit two RA6830s in 19" rack spacing. RA6778A had preamp, RA6778B didn't. 73s para Sactown!!!
