What Mike said! The KT-88 is by NO means a sub for a 7027.
I'd use the KT-66 Genalex reissue. Killer tube.
Follow Ups:
Wonderful tube the Genelex KT66..The other nice one is the TungSol 6L6g coke bottle reissue.

The only bad thing is that the price on the 6L6G has gone through the roof, New Sensor DOUBLED what they charge for it! Now a Tung-Sol 6L6G sells for significantly more than the Genalex KT-66.
The Tung-Sols went from selling for about $100 or so per quad to about $200!!
WOW!
Why did they do that?

The ruble is dropping like a rock and the dollar is going through the roof.
Even ladies of the night have doubled their rates because of it. Until Putin decides to act sanely and the price of oil goes up it will be like that.
I guess they didn't want to sell any more 6L6Gs...
I asked them the same question, and the reply was essentially "that's the way it is..."
