well if the door closed and sets and cycles, the laser is not picking up the data from the CD and it's most likely the problem..I also have a 3520 with issues but I'm going to get back to it..I need belts first.

Mike, is it possible to manually move the laser tracker and see if it resets?
I had that once with a Luxman. The tracking mechanism wasn't rest.
Basically once you see these problems it's time to replace the entire drive.

If it's hanging up in its track,yes..I have done that a few times. There is also a mode type rheostat adjustment(s) on these units which was like the mode switch on the old VCRs and the potentiometer mode switch would get dirty and the unit would not cycle properly. In the case of the VCR,it could be between play and rewind and it wouldn't go until you cleaned and reset the mode switch..You always did that with an ohmmeter..
