Today @ our local Goodwill store that has had hardly anything I managed to find a pair of Mitsubishi SS 62 P Speakers! They are rather heavy & seem to be rather well built? Has anyone ever heard these before? For $10.00 I just had to take a chance! Here's a little information I found on them!

a fellow who plans on restoring them for his own personal use! I took both of them apart & found out the surrounds needed to be replaced.Very well made no cheap parts that I could tell! So rather then just put them on my need to fix shelf of stuff I decided to sell them at cost to someone who will fix & use them! Another good thing about this is that I will be able to hear them too after they are fixed!
Those remind me a lot of the AIWA flat driver speakers, like the SXE-12 and the SF-X12 models. In fact, I've seen a lot of Mitsu components inside AIWA gear from that period, I wonder if they were part of the same conglomerate?
I remember them and Sony coming out w/flat driver speakers around the same time. The surrounds look like they have issues from what I can see.

Mine look to be in better shape then the photo from the internet!Although I have not tried them yet the foam surrounds look to be fine on mine. As for the Sony's flat panel(APM) versions, I owned a pair of them that were considered floor speakers back in the late 80's not the bookshelf kind! When I had to move I sold them & regret it too this day! That's another reason why I got these as I thought the APM's had a unique sound all there own but in a good way!!These were considered somewhat Hi end I guess and not Mid FI so I have read! That picture really makes them speakers look, cheap & cheesy, but they really are not!Going to hook them up to a Superscope amp an Inmate sent me which is about 20 watts rms per channel which should be more then enough to drive them considering they are 90 DB!I also have several vintage Receivers that should have more then enough power to drive them as well! I Will let folks here know how they sound soon!
Cool, I like that you had the Sony's too. Not many know of or remember them. Yes let us know how they work out.
