I got a free Wurlitzer SS console because it had a Garrard Lab 80 TT in it. The Garrard works great and was rebuilt in '91. There was even a spare new OEM idler wheel for it in a little Garrard parts bag! I decided to gut the console and in removing the speakers (1-10", 2-3" cone tweeters per side) I found they were enclosed in a nice cabinet within the console with a tuned port. I'd never seen that before. The norm is just speakers on a baffle and some have something more. This was made of 3/4" MDF/particle board. It was stuffed at the top w/ some batting. Nice that it isn't a rectangle too.E

Those Wurlitzer consoles while not valuable, are as rare as hens teeth. You should have saved it.
No it was not in good cosmetic condition, the SS receiver is ugly and lackluster and doesn't work but I saved it. People that want big consoles are even more rare than hens teeth. It took years for me to sell a beautiful, great sounding, restored (even reconed woofers)tube Grundig in a SOLID OAK cabinet. (Stereo 390US)
