I just got a PAS 3 and Scott 350c in original condition and have COMPLETELY come back to vintage audio. These pieces are unrestored and sound fantastic. I also found a great deal on an original pair of large Advents.
I can't believe how much money I've spent just to get caught up in the "audiophile" merry-go-round. Always listening and analyzing my gear, and not hearing the music.
Now,I have a complete system that I have funded by selling a single modern preamp. A system that allows me to sit back and enjoy my music collection again, and feel the music. I have so missed this feeling. Hopefully my original gear will hold up for awhile longer, because I dont want to change a thing!

I can't tell you how much money I spent on new gear. Only to realize it wasn't my taste, ORRR it just wasn't that good.
However I do feel new gear has a place. Speakers are one area of vast improvement. Sources like my Marantz NA7004 streaming player are a life saver.
So new does have a place - if placed correctly.

Exactly what happened to me once I went back in time. Nice to just be able to listen to the music ain't it?
I don't understand why 50 year old gear sound better to me. It shouldn't. But it does! So much more nourishing...
