How does the sound of a rebuilt Citation II compare to a rebuilt Mc275?I am driving Magnepan 1.7's with a Mc240 that Mikey rebuilt for me,which sounds very good, but having more power might be nice...
Follow Ups:
You can always get a second mc240 and that would give you more power. The Citation 2 is a great amp and I run a pair on the Martin Logans.

I have read a few posts where the Mc275 was rated to be a better sounding amp than the Mc240.I really like my Mc240,but have never heard a Mc275 or a Citation II.The Mc260 usually gets high marks as well among the higher power tube amps.
Which vintage McIntosh is the best sounding is subjective but I rate them: {1} MC225 {2} MC275 {3} MC240. I have owned all 3 but have never had one of the monoblocks so cant comment on the MC30, MC40, MC60 or MC75. Others might rate them vastly different than me.
