Hello all,
I've got a Harman/Kardon 330c receiver playing through a pair of Polk Monitor 5's. For reasons having mostly to do with family logistics, they're in a large finished basement with carpeting. I've always had some trouble really filling the room, even at high volumes.
For no particular reason, today I tried switching on the CONTOUR switch on the receiver. All of a sudden, the music was bigger, bolder, and just generally more present. I know that this is basically a "loudness" switch, but given the giant room and limited bass-power of the Polks, is this an excusable state of being for my stereo?
Or in other words, am I missing out on something major, sound quality or detail-wise, if I play everything with the CONTOUR on?
Thanks!
