Hello all,
I am new here, and not an audio aficionado. What I have is a set of Fisher XP-16s that my father bought in probably the late 60's. I have had them for years with the hopes of restoring and using, but unfortunately I never have quite enough space for these massive speakers, so I'm wanting to sell them. As you can see by the photos below, they are not in great condition. They do work, but obviously sound awful as they are ripped and falling apart. The cabinets themselves are nice, with just some scratches and normal wear.
I am asking for any advice on what these could be worth, if anything at all, and good places to sell. Not trying to make a lot of cash, just want them to go to someone who would make some use out of them, be it restoring, or any worthwhile parts. Any help on this would be appreciated.
thanks for any help or opinions...
DH.

I would give them a good home and fix them. I will pay fair price. Problem is getting to you. I have a broken right leg so no driving for awhile
Broken wheel huh? Did you go to Kutztown? My best for a quick recovery.

in that condition. The surrounds to fix both would likely cost less than $50-60 then you do the labor. But you still have a huge f-ing speaker very few people want. Repaired per above and if all the other drivers work and they sound good if you got somebody to give you 2-250 take it. My opinion.

Are you selling the console with them and what equipment is in it. As a complete system the value may be worth more than if you break it up.

If you just want to Move them - out of your house - You might try your local Craig's List - and sell them as-is, photos etc.
There is an 'Asylum Trader' here as part of AA that does well, but obviously shipping those speakers will be a BEAR!
Repairing the surrounds is an option - but it sounds as though you are not interested- and you probably wont recoup your time and investment.
Good luck
thanks for the response, what do you think they'd be worth as is?

That is a tough question-
There is a pair on ebay now listed at $799.00 - which I doubt they will go for...
Though they seem to be in better shape - for the surrounds -
But I give your pair the edge on the cabinet finish....
If you want money for them - it may take a while and you will need to repair the surrounds -
I know a gentleman here in the bay area that picked up a bunch of McIntosh equip, including a pair of speakers - only slightly smaller that yours - Not sure if he sold them - but the listing is gone-
He was asking $250 for the pair...
You should be able to get something close to that - but probably not $240...
Good luck
