Now Mercury Living Presence is a different matter entirely. They have a cleaner, brighter sound than the RCA's, and I like most of them I have.

An audiophile company from the early days.
Did you know they would record ambient hall noise to splice in between movements of their pieces to avoid the dead silence?
During sound checks, they would set recording levels to the loudest passages and never touch them for the duration of the recording.
And they only used three mikes: center and L-R.
Interesting company that Bob Fine created.
