I got a very run of the mill SS guitar amp from a friend to repair. The power transformer primary is open. Here is a link to a thread with the schematic but the transformer secondary voltage and current is not listed. After the bridge and some caps it uses 15V regulators and while called a 60 watt amp it is 30 watts RMS.Here is a link which has a pdf schematic (several replies down)

Any help appreciated. My guess is 12-24 V @ 4-6 amps tops. This is a 120V model. It barely fits in the palm of my hand and is a little bigger than a baseball (while not round of course) Thanks in advance.

Well it has both +15V and -15V regulators so we know it is at least 30V with a center tap. Add a few volts for the dropping resistors and 5V more each for the regulators to regulate and we get 40V - 50V with a center tap.
BTW: root mean square is a measure of voltage NOT watts.
Something is screwy about that schematic. It shows the main rail voltage that feeds the power amp being +8V/-8V. Yet, downstream from that are 7815 and 7815 (15V) regulators!
