Does anyone remember the old Nikko ( maybe Niko)501 receivers? It was the first receiver I bought in 1969 after I out out of the army. As I remember it had germanium output transistors, and sounded great! I'd like to find one just to see! I kept it till I bought a Marantz 4440 in 74.

Many moons ago I had a Nikko Gamma 1 fm tuner. It was one of the better tuners I have owned since! Very underrated gear.
Here is one {buy it now} that looks in really good shape.
Nikko has always been under rated.

I might take a shot at that, tho it's almost as much as I paid for mine new!
I don't remember if mine was model 501 or 501s. I wonder if the S stands for silicon. I know mine had germanium outputs because I had to replace one!
I have a vintage Nikko tuner it is a great tuner, I forget the model number off hand but there is a tuner site that has a lot of info on tuners been a while since I visited it what was the name of that tuner site? Really informational great site if you are looking for tuners which I have a lot of.
