Doesn't get as much use around here as it probably should due to my preference for tubes, but an absolutely incredible receiver that still flies under the radar for most. Made to compete with McIntosh back in the day.

I owned 3 STR6060s and it was an amazing receiver. Sound was amazing and build quality 2nd the NONE.
It was superseded when Sony introduced the STR6120 that was replaced by the STR6200. I had the 6120 at the same time as the 6060 and it was a toss up as to which I preferred. Both are excellent. Others who have coated them tend to prefer the 6120 with a bit more power and tuner from the ST5000. Also, somewhat less voiced room compete with classic tube and the then signature McIntosh sound. Those who have compared the 6120 to 6200 tend to prefer the 6200 that I found to be more of the now accepted SS sound. I preferred the 6120 so never moved on to buy the 6200. The 6200 was replaced by the STR6065 that was the receiver I owned longer than any other. But it does not have the build.quality of the earlier units. Still, better than most competing receivers of the time or since.
