Take out the first 12ax7 and see if you get the source voltage at 1 and 6.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

I am going to change out both pairs of 100k and 2.2 meg meg resistors that feed fron the 125v leg of the power supply to see if it will give me any more voltage on pin 1 of V1 (now 86v) and pin 7 on v2 (now 30v). I am also reading low voltages on V4 and V7 where pins 2 and 7 now read -25v,but should be -50v.
