As for me, I know there will come a time when I won't have the luxury of the space that the Sound Lab U-1s require.
I cannot imagine, however, letting go of the Acoustat 1+1s since they share the coherence and natural radiation characteristics of a line source, but still have a small footprint. They fit in smaller spaces and resolve very well at low levels. :)
Follow Ups:
I only gave up my last set of Nines as they finally needed work and at the time there was not the support network for them as exists now.
After, I auditioned a number of speakers and was enroute to offer a pair of LaScalas when I stopped at a local audio store and spied the Bozak Symphonys. I knew there sound well and many decades ago they lost out to the Nines as my permanent speakers by only the minimalist amount so, it was a no brainer to go for them rather than the LaScalas. Ultimately I would still end up in the same predictament as their footprint is no smaller than the Symphonys. Maybe settling on the Heresys was more predictable than realized considering I was so close to buying the LaScalas to replace the long owned Nines.

Fortunately for me, the support network for Acoustat remains strong. Along with the fact that the panels are near indestructible.
A former employee, Roy Esposito, continues to service and upgrade them. My interfaces are with him now getting modernized.
The 2+2's and 1+1's are just superb speakers and I have owned several of each. For a regular home with 8' ceilings, they are just too tall for me.
But, the 2+2's made me realize I prefer the sound of ESL's to dynamic speakers. I listened all night long when I first played them. Fun, loads of fun!
