I have been leaning more toward older equipment for various reasons. I would like to begin using some pieces for video as well. However most pieces lack an abundance of inputs.
I plan on using a Pure i20, video to Telly, audio to integrated or receiver. I know an Aux is the way to go but what about the other inputs? Say I wanted to keep the Aux for a CD; could a tape in be used for the Pure? Could the audio signal out from the Telly be used in the tape in? If a tuner input is present is that a viable solution for either the CD, Telly or Pure?
Correct to assume the Phono inputs would be of no use due to low level inputs and special equalizations?
Thanks all for feedback.
Best,
Dave

Except for mag/mc phono, mic. and tape head, all other inputs generally are hi-level with no equalization and the labels are simply for convenience. This includes Tape Monitor or Tape In. Tape Out is ahead of the controls of the preamp and output whatever is selected to play. There are variations depending on the control system such as dubbing, etc.
If you want, you can buy a multiple switch that can take and switch between several sources and output to a high level input on the amp/preamp/receiver. Most common seem to be 3-way that allows a net gain of inputs of 2 sources. They also can be reversed to use 1 input to multiple amps, etc. I do this with my cd player and a 3-way switch so I can run it through systems I want to compare or my main and 2nd system. The also make switchboxes for multiple tape deck based systems that include dubbing ability such as the fairly common Sony units and multiple speaker switching systems though these one needs to be a bit careful of for several reasons.

and can be used for whatever you want, tape, aux, CD, video, etc. As you so correctly point out, phono is a different animal and will not work.
Early on, certain preamps had tailored CD inputs that actually had EQ to roll off the highs, but they are very few and far between.
Good luck with your new system!
