I'd have to pull one out and flip it over to be exact but we ran the power going out to the preamp octal plug back to the rectifier tube socket and replaced the 6V4 with a 6CA4. I also put vitamin Q .047s to replace the original .022 polys. These mods give the amp much better bass and a little smoother sound when using horns. I plan to add a poly to pin 4 of the rectifier too which should make for faster bass.

I installed Russian PIO coupling caps and did the poly cap thing too with pansonics lytics after. It is quite an improvement.
I recommend the 6CA4 mod very highly. Its at least as much an improvement as the poly in the power supply.
Not sure I understand what that mod does and how it's wired. Can you take a look at it when you get a chance and shoot me a PM?
I will get the specs for you asap. There is wasted power (unless you are running an unpowered fisher mono preamp) running to the octal plug on the side of the amp next to the fuse holder. The mod allows you to use that power in the amp rather than it just sitting there unused. It raises the power output and clean headroom of the 20A amp.
The thorens is a CD player and matching DAC. Sounds very good but I have heard it sound better with a nicer DAC.
