I'm don't if the paint on the transformers is original OEM but I'm assuming it is..
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

It went for $1,750 and the Cit I mate went for $1,150 I believe. I don't recall the exact amount for the Cit I becuase I pretty much quit paying attention when it went over $900. The guy got the original kit box and paperwork as well. I wonder why he didn't mention that in his eBay lisitng? I hope he didn't throw it out.
I was more than a little surprised at the amount an untested amp that had been sitting in the closet for 30 years could bring at a local Akron, OH auction.
Wow. Sometimes I wish I had a pile of dough.
Sometimes???
........I was a vegetarian for 15 minutes... until the main course.
Can you imagine the factory with workers placing components and making all of the point to point solder connections? That would take a lot of quality control training.I give them credit for turning out good products 50 years ago with so many opportunities for mistakes.
That particular amp was a kit. You can tell because the relatively few factory built Citation IIs had rivets holding most things together, not the screws seen on that amp.
Also, I know the tubes have significant value, but that's an awful lot to pay for an amp that will need TOTAL rebuilding. It's 50+ years old!
They are awfully nice amps, no doubt, and all you need is a decent core to make them great again!!
No really, that looks nice. I always wished I had one of those. But those days are far behind me.
That Duce looks as good as it gets. There's a lot of potential and eye candy there.
