Although I have the highest regard for Mr. Samra, I do agree
with the person saying the "car stuff" is a bit off topic.
Yes, it is vintage asylum but it is also AUDIOASYLUM.
The answer might be to promote Mr. Samra and give him his
own Asylum category. If he named it "All Things Samra",
it would be the first one I would look at each day when
looking.
Regards to all,
John

Aww that's sweet John but I should have done for Bobby (Bc Guitar),was post a 1930s electric car and he would loved that..He just bought a new Tesla which I know is fine car but now he's turning against everything that runs on fossil fuels..He almost had me buying a Tesla until I saw the price..I'll wait til they come down to reality.

Oh well, so much for that.....
While I understand your position as I said, the owner mentioned the audio system in the car and what he did to restore it. I found it interesting as I repaired Delco radios and back then they were all tub units so the one in his car is a bit unusual. I remember attending the Delco update school and being shown and having them described along with how to trouble shot the amp but in practice never ran across one. The 1st all transistor radio in a car was in the 1962 Buick and was a combo that could be pulled out and used as a portable. I only saw a few of these and Delco had a lot of grief with the design so issued a replacement permanent indash replacement. Owners could opt to go to the permanent radio and GM issues a refund check for the difference between the pull out radio and permanent radio prices.

Perhaps there should be a "content relevance" factor applied:
The video runs 9:24 and the twenty seconds devoted to the radio (or just under 4% of the video) is found starting at 6:14.
Four percent seems a bit light. :)

It does say Vintage gear at the top and that can apply to most anything that's American electronic vintage related that produces music and I did specifically mention the tube radio which is vintage as the main theme of the post.
I see this on the general forum daily, how people will piss and moan about a particular post, claiming to take issue with it and then they will spend day after day making post after post about how it.Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose when you make a 100 posts about one particular post saying it wastes space on the forum more or less?

As for me, I couldn't care less wading through six minutes of unrelated stuff to view twenty seconds of simply observing what the guy did to the radio.
How about telling us that those twenty seconds occur at 6:14 into the video?
Next time I will or at least start the video at that point.Of course,we have had vintage motorcycle discussions on this forum and you have joined in on those as well but I know you have no affinity for American cars as you have stated many times before.Had that been a 1958 Mercedes 220,you probably would have been all over it joining in.

I'm referring to other poster's comments who really have little or no interest in cars or motorcycles.
Why not take spend an additional thirty seconds to embed the video and let folks know where the tiny audio related snippet is to be found?
That I will next time.

Honestly, when you posted this video:
it reminds me of when my '72 Vega had a fouled plug and ran on three cylinders. There's an obvious problem that needs fixing!
I confess that I prefer the cadence of balanced designs that were introduced in the 1930s. :)

I can't believe how the Asians are now buying up the old Harley and Indian bikes now..I honestly think they are the main reason, vintage american made audio gear has taken on so much value.I like the fact that they are making replacement parts for this old stuff as well for reasonable prices.
