Oh, come on. He did mention the restoration of the stock am radio with the tube front end and transistor amplifier and stock antenna so not totally ot :). Though he said there were no modifications, I think I saw a speaker grill on the passenger kick panel that would not have been original. This was not uncommon back in the days of AM as then AM had some good stations still for music. If he wanted he could kick it up a notch by finding and adding the optional reverb, a VERY scarce oem option and maybe a Sears aftermarket 45 rpm record player.
I was not really interested until I saw the Nixon in '60 sticker. In 1960 as a high school student I was THE ONLY student in my class promoting the Republican cause all others were pro Kennedy as he was just 1 State down in Mass. I proudly walked around with my Barry Goldwater badge and for some years after whenever the presidential choices are poor still write his name in to protest what we have.
I remember those 6-cyl engines well, shoot them, bomb them, torpedo then and they just kept running. I do dispute his allegation that the doors sound solid. His as every one I ever heard from that period other than the Lincolns and Caddies rattled and shook as if something forgot to be screwed down. I do wish makers today would design those windows into the current crop of sw*ll so we did not have to send extra on periscopes and rear facing cameras.

Exactly!
Anyway, the title of forum says Vintage Asylum
Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.
That pretty much covers nostalgic audio, radios, cars,TVs,anything electronic from yesteryear.
Honest amplification is better than 2nd order distortion anytime.
not really
I agree with you Mike about the vintage car post! There are far more things to worry about!Such as the fact that I have to let my water in the sink run 24/7 until further notice so the pipes wont freeze in my Village due to all this Global Warming we've been having in Wis.Also with the water runing 24/7 it is affecting the sound quality of my vintage stereo system!
I had that pipe freeze thing at my rental and I just wrapped the pipe with that heat tape and it works great.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
Most of us are vintage come to think of it..Argh argh!
