Abbe de Groot from Holland
upgrades and sells vintage equipment, including Fisher X-101-C amplifier (Eur 750.0). He claims that this unit was specially made for Europe and was optimized for 220V. It was equipped with best components, including German capacitors.
I suspect, however, that German capacitors were installed by one of its former owners (and I am wondering why).
I also doubt that it was originally made for Europe as a 220V version.
Perhaps, it was redone for 220V by one of its former owners.
Any comments will be appreciated.

I had what certainly appears to be an unmolested 30-C open yesterday that is chock full of German components, tubes to caps.

The original resistors and caps are what I am used to seeing in fisher equipment. He does mention power supply caps and "paper in oil caps" aren't original (which are obvious). Unit appears very clean and his work does as well. Looks good to me. No idea what fair value is in your area.
Avery after WWII brought a number of German engineers to the US as he had great respect for their knowledge and ability in designing equipment. As a result if you look at a number of his units you can see layouts and designs that look similar to being German than the less neat and well laid out US products. He also made what has become a headache for many of the Fisher vintage owners, sourcing caps and resistors to Germany as the industry there was just getting back on its feet and costs for these products was advantageous. However, the material used was not consistent and not as decent as even the unreliable British sourced parts. His most notable German sourced part was the front end of the TFM-1000 tuner that at the time was truly exceptional but sadly, is all but unrepairable.
He had in his pricing 220v versions and exported to Europe so, just as likely the unit is original as not. Not sure if he had a formal distributor there. We could order them as special order items and did receive orders from overseas and shipped there.
The unit shown has had a lot of caps replaced with modern pieces and looks to be in great physical condition with the most notable thing wrong to me is the lens on the front, should be a jewel lens but replacements are scarce.
While I do not track Fisher, I seem to remember this model as being one of the most sought after and considered one of the best sound from the factory. I suspect the asking price is not bad considering the location and condition.
