Wonder why this would be? There is a pair of these Aztecs locally for sale. When I went to do research I noticed something odd about another version I found on the net. Would they have really come in "handed versions?"

Brian, I am referring to the placement of the tweeters. If you look, one set of the speakers has the tweeters on the right and the other set the tweeters are on the left. I know that some speakers are mirror imaged but this just seemed odd to me and I wondered what the logic would have been from the manufacturer.
Mirror imaging of speakers definitely helps the imaging or soundstage. The center image is more precisely located and the image is more stable. Generally, the imaging is best with the tweeters toward the center.
