Where Do you Live ................There`s no buys like that on Long Island ,N.Y.........................I love good speakers especially when there Cheap.............LOL
Hi, sober1. Regarding the NS10M - what we did in the studio when using
these for near field was put a piece of tissue (Kleenex) over the
tweeter. It tames the response a bit. This was more or less standard
operating procedure at the time. Don't use tissue with lotion in it.
It may look a tad silly but it what the hey. Its the sound that counts,
right? Happy Listening.
I just read a little on the innerweb about the "tissue attenuator".
My impression so far is they seem to be extremely revealing to an almost thin state on my system. I wouldn't characterize them as bright on my system though.
Thursday during my cable/internet install, I played some Acoustic Alchemy thru them for the installer who said he had the 10s in his home recording studio with no sub. he was caught off guard by their sound when coupled and crossed with my Velodyne FSR-12 and class A push-pull 6p3s ultra-linear amp. I guess my point is with a well blended sub and tubes they not bad. Now I've only spun one CD and one server based album (Lou Reed). This w/e I'll spin some vinyl to get a better read on them on my gear.

last weekend at Craigs site. I guess things even out one way or the other. If you buy another set maybe I can sell my Boston (Lynnfield) VR30s.

Bet they are a set of really nice ARs in those cabinets. Not sure of the model but maybe even a set of 3a's or 5ax's. If so, those are the deals of all and the keepers, especially in those gorgeous cabinets.

sh*t when I saw them!

The AS-10 was a lower cost design, using non AR drivers. Jensen I think. The Heath/AR had model numbers AS-2 and AS-2A.
Best, Ross
Just think: They called those the "Economy" models in the catalog page below (thanks for that). They wouldn't be called that today. Good looking they are.
... as evidenced by the price differential ;-)
all the best,

Ah, the gorgeous AS 21. I've all the speakers I've owned and later sold off the 21s are the only ones I sometimes miss.
I'd like to find a couple of those in a thrift store!
Dave
Sell the NS10's. You will get good money and they sound like crap.
Dave
Back in the day we sold a lot of those... and I never understood why. They go for good money now. I always thought it was the white woofer.
Nice score !

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
They did look very nice. They were like small versions of NS-1000, which was a whole different animal. Just don't turn the NS-10's on!
Dave
Very nice!!
I'm jealous, but then again, I don't have room for anymore speakers. I need to get rid of a few pairs.
As my wife would say, "Do you really need all those speakers?" :)
To which I just reply:
"Do you really need all those shoes?"

what's this "wife" thing you mention?
