Vintage Sansui G-7000 restoration question

A friend of mine has a Sansui G-7000 that turns on but produces no sound. He wishes to have it completely restored/repaired. Who is the solid state Sansui guru in the United States where this thing could be shipped for complete servicing?

Mike has done good work for me in the past, but don't go there if you are in a hurry. As you can see on his Queue page, he is presently working on things he received in August last year. FIFO.

...it could be something as simple as a dirty contact with the selector or tape monitor switches. I'd hit all the controls with DeOxit and see if that fixes the problem. Can you hear the relay click a couple of seconds after the receiver's turned on? If not, it could be a bad relay switch or a burned out output stage. The electrolytic capacitors in the older receivers tend to dry out and need replacement, especially on the power supply board.

You could try posting on Audiokarma.org. Very knowledgeable folks over there, especially Catrafter and Echo Wars. They should be able to steer you in the right direction. Fortunately the older receivers had discrete components that makes repairs fairly straight forward.

  I recently worked on a Sansui G-7000. I have to be frank and say I was shocked at what I found inside this receiver. Parts that were clearly under rated for their working voltage and dozens of parts riding the edge of their working voltage. I couldn't believe that I actually found CERAMIC caps under rated.
  
  Great design but crappy parts. So you are going to need a COMPLETE over haul of this unit.
  
  Do the lights go on but no relay click. You should hear two sets of relays clicking.
