I've never been to Kutztown, but am thinking it might be worth the 6+ hour drive from NE Ohio. Of course it would help to motivate me if I had an idea of what hifi might be available after such a long drive.
I've looked over the pics from prior shows and while I do see a decent amount of hifi, but is there generally a lot more that isn't shown in the pics?
There is always bunches and bunches of hifi here. For the last eight shows, at least, I reported the hifi sales that I saw or heard about. The shows are in early May and mid September, so you might want to check my postings in the Vintage AA archives from the past few years.
These shows are amazing. Radio, tube, jukebox, turntable, hifi, record vendors all come together, over 200 tables worth. Last year, over 242 tables were displayed by well over 150 "exhibitors" at the autumn show. Attendees can reach over 2000, as the admission and camping is free. Folks travel from Canada and Europe to attend ! Hotels are nearby.
Not to "hype" the shows, but you do know that the early bird gets the worm, right ? Well, the photographers are never the early birds. The show starts Friday. If you arrive Saturday at 10 AM, you will have missed lots of action. If you arrive Friday evening, you might also miss a lot. Consider this when making your travel plans.
So, looking back to a recent show, my buddy who restores turntables and record players from New Hampshire, caravanned in tandem with me. He found no less than 15 turntables to restore. Packing them inside his Lincoln was not fun, especially considering he slept in the car after we packed ten tables. He also met two table buyers that later contacted him for sales and resto work. One of the gentleman dropped off dozens and dozens of tables for my buddy to keep and "put toward" his repair bills. At that same Kutztown show, I found many, many tubes I needed, some tube preamps, a Phase Linear 2000 preamp, a Fisher stereo tube amp, some styli, some great lit, a tube tester and more; plus, I had a great time.
Consider bringing some stuff to trade and/or sell, to offset your expenses. Many of the exhibitors are always hunting for more stuff. For these antique radio shows, over the last few years, more hifi related gear shows up ! Sometimes, almost every exhibitor brings some hifi stuff ! Not to overhype, these shows are worthy of travel from anywhere...
I am so looking forward to this ! As we have told all of you, again and again...If there is one show, worthy of travel from anywhere on the globe, it is these swap meets at Renningers in Kutztown, PA. May 13-14 is coming up quickly !
So, Mike, you did it once more, for another ride.... You took back the club's reign ! Good Move !
/See you there, please visit our booth and say hello to my wife and I. We'll have a Grundig console if it fits in the vehicle, some old radios, parts, power supplies and the like.

I'll be there with the spousal unit. We plan to set up a table as a vendor and stay for both days. Do I need to preregister for a table?

For a massive national show like this, re-registration strongly recommended. Call Renninger's in Kutztown, M-Th 570 385 0104 or Fri- Sat. 610 683 6848.
Thanks, called and done.

Excellent. See you on the set.
Yes I'm in pavilion two and will have a variety of audio, radio and a couple of power supplies. Look for my wife and me.
Earl Thomas
I'm in 331-333 in the Main pavilion, right next door to Interstage Tranny, and Al Nico's next to him. We've been doing it that way for almost ten years!
