don't expect to get much support here but for my taste the two best guitarists of the sixties rock scene were jorma kaukonen and zal yanovsky.
the best guitarist today? without a doubt charles 'lil charlie' baty. he is the second player in this video.

charles left the band some time back. he was replaced by 'kid anderson' from norway. kid anderson is a very very good player in his own right but charles baty is special. charles would literally blow eric clapton off the stage if given the chance. i watched charles back in '84' at the club i booked music battle it out with duke robillard who at the time was playing in a band called 'roomful of blues'. lil charlie opened the show. the two later did a guitar showdown. the expression of dukes face told the story. he didn't know what hit him.
