I have a line on an SCA35 that is reported to be in excellent, all original condition. Is $200 a reasonable price? I've never used a Dynaco amp, but I do have Sherwood S-5500 Mk III and Stromberg-Carlson Stereo 60 integrateds, and some NOS 6bq5s burning a hole in my pocket :-) Thanks for your thoughts.

I payed $ 153.00 for mine a couple of months ago on Ebay. The speaker connections were converted to banana's and the selector knob was not original but fit the look. I dont know if changing anything on ths amp lowers there value or not. But if you looking for stock and want to keep it stock and you have a chance to inspect it first I would say its a good deal. When you buy online you never know what you are getting until you get it. That is worth some money to me......
Thanks to all for the input...I appreciate your collective wisdom.

The price isn't out of line - SCA-35's have been going for about $180 depending on condition on ebay - with shipping, one at that price could easily top $200.
They've got the excellent Z-565 OPT's in them, and fit a tube integrated into a fairly compact package. Sounds like a reasonable deal to me.
I pulled out the HF-81 (which does sound better) in hopes of finally isolating/fixing the nagging hum it has.
The SCA-35 sounds good enough, though, that I haven't been in a hurry to find the HF-81's hum :-P
all the best,

I happen to like the guy. When I divested myself of my tube gear, the SCA35 was the 1 unit I could not part with. Pretty easy to work on and as long as you move the heat away from it as it does run hot, it will serve you faithfully.
... the power supply and coupling caps will need attention.
all the best,
mrh
Hi Mark,
What do you like for coupling caps in the SCA-35?
TIA,
Dave
