I was making an exaggeration Doc. Don't think you'd ever find anything like that. I was using it to explain how thrilled I was to find the Advents.
If you could find $20 Thorens I think I'd move in a minute.

HB
At the weekly Cincy Goodwill Auction, a guy I know bought a big huge rolling bin full of all kinds of things for $12.....After sorting out the answering machines, vacuum cleaners and table lamps, he found a Thorens TD-124...and a Pioneer SX-1250 at the bottom of this huge bin. I helped him sort the bin and was amazed at what we found!
However, he's not a collector, but a flea market guy. I offered him $50 for the TT and $100 for the receiver but he said no, it must be worth more. He took it to the flea market and sold BOTH for $50! He knew I was a collector and thought if I were willing to pay $150 for both they must have been worth a whole lot more. He's kind of an idiot in that he'd rather sell it to a total stranger for less than to someone he knows.
I even offered to sell it on eBay for him so he could get more than at the flea market....he didn't want to mess with eBay as he doesn't even own a computer.
Not much more I could do....
$50 would have been a steal for the Thorens. You win some, you lose some.

but whatever. You've been real active here and on vinyl.
... it's been a couple of years. Got one TD160 for $10 and another for free with no head shell. Most of the stuff I find isn't quite so good, but still having fun.

John
