Hello John,The bridge may or may not be grounded. Depends on application.
Grounding the negative leg will provide a positive voltage only and vice versa. You may also have secondary topology of say
12VAC 0 12VAC where 0 is grounded(center tap) and the bridge provides both positive and negative voltage(no grounding of bridge).Regards,
