when another company is selling products deliberately designed to surround your AC and your audio signal with a magnetic field, by running conductors through a magnetic pipe, the longer, the more expensive? And those products get rave reviews.

My idea was merely to experiment with the plugs (most of my other plugs--Oyaide and Furutech mainly--use strictly non-magnetic parts). I was not expressing a cable engineering philosophy. Are you advocating the magnetic field approach? Just wondering.

I have discussed the use of magnetics on conductors of both AC and audio signal with a guy who is very very smart about transformers and inductors. He thought, on balance, there is little benefit to be had. By the same token, maybe there is little to be concerned about if those screws are magnetic. Many, including me, are disinclined to use magnetic or ferrous screws on headshells, where they are in proximity to the phono cartridge. I do observe that precaution, without really having had any reason to do so, except inherited "wisdom".
But it is a bit ironic, doncha think? The magnet-bearing cables get rave reviews from many adherents.
