User knowledge required is visually telling the diff between Coarse and Fine threads on the fastener in question.
I would avoid "brass" screws at HD, since they are brass plated or colored, and not solid IME.
BoltDepot dot com is a good source for threaded fasteners in small quantities. I'd go with brass or stainless...
