IMHO: Essential is getting whatever system I have at the time to sound as natural as possible, especially with SS.
It begins with providing a clean electrical signal; 20 amp dedicated line/power conditioning + all components being deferentially balanced (PMc PS Audio made me aware of that a decade+ ago), followed by vibration control, and speaker placement
Recently, I inserted 2 Machina Dynamica thingies, which are passive devices. They look like simple wall outlet child protectors with a sheet of copper over them (but I know him well enough now that magic is involved). Can't even begin to tell you how much they cleaned up the whole background tapestry. I immediately noticed they removed a veil over background brass and horns. This also benefited the high frequencies, providing a more natural sound

My father instilled in me the value of DIY- building my own weight bench, backboard, skim board...,when they can be built for a lot less than the store bought options, and provide much higher level of satisfaction, but I also feel it's important to reward the person who breaks new ground, especially if the cost is reasonable
I have the label stickers but will be ordering some copper window stickers

outlet in our place. Pretty sure there is an improvement. I may apply some copper tape to them now that you mention it.
Speaking of copper tape, use some on all your windows. GK sells his version, but it's cheaper to make your own.
I've found that to be an essential and worthy tweak.

Ghost bugs maybe?
What is the real or perceived benefit of putting copper tape on a window??? I assume it is not merely to keep the window from rattling secondary to high sound pressure levels.
In the asylum perception, or missperception IS reality, just like misspelling. Just give your patients some copper tape for there windows instead of Valium for their anxiety attacks Lew. A lot safer. T456
Which young lady did you have in mind?
I have no patients; I don't practice.
Miss Pelling. Miss Perception and I don't get along very well.
I have probably the most glass percentage wise in my audio room than anyone here. I added it up a few years ago when I did the copper foil tweak and it was a lot. 126 sq feet of sliding glass doors alone plus five big windows plus mirrors.Cooper foil tweak was a big plus for me. Well worth the minimal effort and cost. Of course I already had foil tape on hand.

was a "calm" throughout our apartment. This with no music playing or extraneous noise(s).
Everything was just calmer. We've lived here for 20 years, so knowing the neighborhood and
building this was a (wonderful) surprise and very apparent. Is there more to it than taming the glass?
Not sure.
Had previously used those gel type window decorations in the Living room where the stereo resides
and they had provided some vibration control that was noticeable but nothing like the cumulative
effect of the copper window tweak.
I'm sure GK has an explanation beyond your second question for how it works that he won't tell you, only
obliquely refer to while smugly comfortable believing his superiority to the rest of us, but this is a tweak that
works here and is easy and cheap to do.

I gather the chief benefit may in fact be to reduce window rattle, which I can well imagine would be a benefit. But if so, why is it necessary to use copper tape? Duct tape might do as well or better. So, there must be some other element to this that I am missing. Do you place the tape in big X-shaped patterns across windows (and mirrors)? Like some do when preparing for a hurricane or other extreme weather conditions?
Well, the gel eliminated window rattle well.
(Say THAT 10 time quickly without messing up).
There are what? scores of different tape types.
Why specifically copper I'm not sure.
Copper DOES make great shielding for RFI/EMI but I wouldn't think a small amount on windows would contribute to that.
But... you never know.

No I just used two inch strips and I think he only called for one inch

but GK uses a "special" fold with his tape.

Thanks. I am using his stickers in the shape of a merkaba directly behind my system in the center of a large window
