The STP10NK60Z in a TO-220FP insulated package is a 600v 10a device rated at 35watts in the FP package. The STF24N60M2 is a 650v 18A device in an FP, fully protected, insulated package and is rated at 30 watts. How can this be?? Higher voltage rating, higher current rating and lower wattage rating? Same package. Tweaker
Follow Ups:
heat dissipation for the 600v/10a package may be HIGHER than the 650/18.
The maximum rating may be at room temp. Substantial derates exist at higher temps.
Too much is never enough
Cheeseburger. Big Mac. Same paper bag, bigger burger.
So why does the bigger cheese burger have fewer calories? That is the question.
