Wouldn't give up without trying them. Other brightness killers are the famous hubble ac receptacle and probably the famous P&S ac plug. Using silver conductive grease on the ac plug can or does reduce glare (not in the signal path), IMHO,YMMV.
Years ago, someone said that the ferrite saturates over time and becomes worse sounding. The fix is to use a bulk tape demagnetizer every week or so to "clear" the residual charge. Anyone try this?
barondla, Funny you should bring that up. Was going to be the thing I was going to do after dinner. It's IMHO a fairly substantial improvement, or Ugggggg if you like. I demag wires and electronics. Don't know how long it lasts. Very good tweak, also don't forget to demag your cd's if you still use them. Tweaker
