Here in WA state, they used a lot of the terrible 120V outlets with
the quickie push-in connections, as early as 1970? So many are failing
and IMO, all should be replaced and screw terminals used (New ones still
have the push-in option as well as screws). So since you could have up to 6-8 outlets in series on a circuit, you
have the potential of the power going through 12+ (2 each outlet) "iffy" small contact area conections before getting to your "audiophile grade"
outlet!.I've just replace all the outlets in the house, including wire brushing
the copper ends brite.I don't get why the push-ins aren't banned. I don't trust them with
over 1KW continuously. I guess UL might. So I guess check and or replace the outlets, at least on your
audio system circuit.

You mean like these, that were taken out 8 years ago. Pretty much trash.
Thanks..good pic of the tiny edge contact point...dumb idea,
only benefits electricians!.
I replaced the builder's cheapie ones that came with the house to Maestro ones.. Big difference.
Good point. Every room I remodel gets new heavy duty outlets. Poor connections make for a hazard and resistance build up.
