Two of my computers died earlier this week and I suspect static electricity. It has been very cold and dry here in Colorado and flames have been shooting from my fingertips whenever I get near anything that acts as a ground. I'afraid to go into the same room as my stereo.
I'm wondering if there is something I can hang on the light switch at the entrance to rooms that contain electronic gear (pretty much all of them) that I can use to discharge the spark benignly without electrocuting myself in the process.
Thanks

Hmmm. I don't know, guys. I'm heading for CES in a few days. Maybe I'll get some ideas there. If I do, I'll share them with the forum. I can't believe I'm the only dude out here who has the problem.
Cheers.
Shuffle on down to the grocery store and buy a box of Bounce dryer sheets. Place a sheet anywhere near your gear and be sure to touch it before touching the gear. Problem solved. This really does work and a box of the sheets should probably last you 5-10 years...

No, you need staticide spray and a humidifier.
