I know a guy that knows a guy that meet the guy that did build those. No really I did correspond with someone that built those.
An amazing speaker - NOOOO dispute there! However they do need breathing room. They need a hefty amp, a sizable room and they need to NOT be anywhere near the rear wall. If you can accommodate those criteria - and cost - go for it.
But if the OP is in the full range market I am a firm believer that those multiple 6.5" cones are not the way to go. I guess I'm old school in that you do need a big ass woofer of at least 10". That's what the lady's tell me?!

Charles;
I agree with your assessment in that for real bass one needs at least a 10" woofer - The Orion has two Peerless 10" XLS bass drivers, or two 10" Seas as a upgrade. I guess I'm not sure where the the multiple 6.5" comment came from.
You correct that the Orion does require at least medium power amplifier(s) - 8 channels to be exact.
I have 98 db 3 way "Corntecs", which are a Klipsch Cornwall bottom end, combined with a Altec/GPA 802g top end. Those 15" woofers have a ease of bass power that is intoxicating. I at this time could never see myself selling them off, BUT.......The Orion is special and sounds effortlessly H-U-G-E !!!!
It almost pains me to say how good they sound because they can do it with middle of the road solid state amplification.
I plan to do a week long audition of the Orion in late 2016 by renting one of Dr. Linkwitz's seaside homes complete with Orion speakers. I am laughing to myself as I try to imagine the look on my wife's face as we walk in with our luggage and she sees those speakers.....Bwah ha ha ha.
