In order to upgrade a mundane switch-mode wall wart, the Pyramid PS-4KX linear power supply tends to be popular choice as a low-cost, entry level option. Based on my experience of a similar Tripp Lite power supply (considered superior to Pyramid products), the audio performance of the device is clearly better than a switch-mode wall wart, but can be superseded by power supplies intended for audiophile applications.Since I have no experience of the Zerozone power supply, I cannot be authoritative about its performance nor build quality, but it looks to be on par with an inexpensive DC-1 power supply that I gladly purchased on eBay for use with a digital optical active splitter/repeater. However, the DC-1 power supply features a small encapsulated toroidal transformer, while the Zerozone power supply features a nice R-core transformer similar to what TeraDak uses for their power supplies. I'm familiar with the performance of the similar R-core transformer since I use a TeraDak DAC within my computer workstation system, and think highly of the built-in power supply section.
The Zerozone product seems to be based on that of a TeraDak product but at less than half the price. Perhaps the TeraDak product is a stiffer power supply or features superior parts and design criteria, but the Zerozone product seems none too shabby for the price. It's my opinion that if given a choice between the Pyramid PS-4KX power supply and the Zerozone power supply, I would opt for the Zerozone product, since I expect the Zerozone power supply would indeed sound better for an audiophile application. I certainly think it's worth a try.
Here's a link to the more expensive "TeraDak For Musical Fidelity V90 DAC Linear Power Supply" I mentioned.

Thanks Duster, I researched the TeraDak PS earlier this month prior to your posting about the Zerozone PS. All things considered I'm opting for the TeraDak PS.

Which Teradak should I get to run a MackBook pro?
Thanks
plugmein, try this link.
Just thinking out loud here plugmein. Follow the link Duster provided to the eBay/TeraDak page. Find a PS with the necessary voltage and go from there, research.
I find no mention of an audiophile quality power supply upgrade for a MacBook. Perhaps there is a reason for this. Since I use an iMac, I can't test this notion, but I wonder if the audio presentation is notably better when a MacBook is functioning via a freshly charged battery vs. when the stock Apple power adapter is connected.
I bought one of the TeraDak 12v/1A LPS for my Chord DAC and it is pretty darn good.

I also have this one I like too. Adjustable voltage.
