My experience with all of those fuses you've mentioned matches well with what you've written. The HFT Silver Star are what I use in my conrad-johnson CA200 but if I ever do get my DirectStream DAC open, that'll be getting a Supreme.

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate your help. I tried the AMR Golds days ago and compared them with stock glass body fuse that came with unit. Increase in dynamics and bass for sure. Unfortunately also in increase in treble, hf decay and shimmer which is exactly not what I was hoping for. Would Hifi tuning or SR quantum have notably softer and less hf energy? I love the dynamics and bass of the amr though. Thanks again!
Not what I would have expected quite honestly with the AMR gold fuses in terms of the high frequency response. Perhaps to the extent that the AMR are more detailed, you're hearing more of what your system is capable of. By the way, what is your system comprised of?The HiFi-Tuning Supreme is the most neutral of their line. I don't think that I'd call it soft sounding, however. Even-handed and well balanced, I would. I've never heard the SR line of fuses but going by what I've read from one individual who's opinion I rank very highly, they'd be exactly what you're NOT looking for.
One that might be, and it's obscenely expensive, is the Audio Magic Premier Beeswax which will retain the detail and dynamics you are looking for. However, I've consistently read another two adjectives that I think may fit your bill: organic and smooth. Oh yes, they're $175 each.
Maybe some owners of the Audio Magic fuse could chime in with their thoughts.
EDIT: 1) Did you try orienting the AMR fuse in both directions? You'll most likely find you prefer one orientation over the other. 2) No knock was intended on the Synergistic Research fuses but from what I understand from the OP, he's not looking for more high frequency energy.

Synergistic research makes two different sounding fuses. I think you should try the Synergistic Research RED fuse. It is offered with a 30 day trial. Give it a week to settle in. If you do not like it send it back.
I kept mine.
