Cool thanks! I know all about the power of the 9V. The tech behind my bench when I was a tech did the HV probes that used a 9V. He saved a big box full of the 9V's he pulled as we had to replace it regardless of its strength per ISO 9001.
He was connecting them all together for some silly thing he was going to do and got zapped and they threw him a few feet back. He had at least a few hundred of them connected at that point.
As to caps I have a bag of 47K uf /16 volt I can use. Just don't have many bypass options. Just those .1 Russian PIO and maybe a few stray "close enough" in value but not polyprop.
Will report after next week on my result.

I notice you say your cd transport died.
have you tried the CD jukebox transports; they look awfully similar to the Philips pro units.
I'll look into that. Since the Philips Trivista transport dies w/o support I've used a highly modded Sherwood (the best/fastest reading transport I've ever seen) and used a Squeezebox. The Sherwood won that battle for sound but I do like the music server convenience. In the end I'll probably have both as the music server HD died and I really want a more modern PC as a music server the other was an old XP machine I got free.
Are you saying the jukebox transport may replace the dead one in the Trivista? TIA!
