Setting up the receptacle is as important as the receptacle itself. The Wattgate is based on standard US designs and thus one half of the duplex is connected to the other half by a thin slotted piece bridging the two outlets
I routinely jumper over the two halve on both side to increase the current capacity, and then when hooking up the incoming AC, make sure that y0u connect to the opposite inlets.
Picture shows the two different inputs on opposite outlets and you can see the U shaped copper jumper installed between the two outlets. Makes a noticeable difference. Be sure to connect the u shaped jumpers on both sides

Hi Unclestu,
I'd like to invest in good wallplates, here in France we have schukos but i can see that in the US there is more brands for good receptacles and that they are often cheaper especialy for accessories like carbon panels which can be found in china for a few and never the same for schukos.
So maybe I'll instal US plugs for my audio gears!
I see that in the, us receptacles are always duplex: since I have dedicated lines for each gears I'd like to know if it's possible to un-bridge the two plugs in a receptacle and have two separated lines???
Did you try several brands and plating for plugs? How does it sound???
Thanks a lot: David
