My equipment is arcam 450 with arcm bluray/cd player. the power cord I'm using is the Heimdall for my amp and bluray/cd player. I use NHT classic 4 speakers connected with Blue Heaven interconnects and speaker cables. I use Isotek Solus conditioning connected with JPS pac lite power cord. My system is a 5.1 i use it for both music and movies. I just started playing around with receptacle and they do make a difference. Will the R1 be a good choice or sollution. Im looking for clarity and no warmness since the arcam is warm by nature. or any other suggestion. I have also used PS audio which gives some clarity and a lot of bass. furutech GTX rhodium not too happy sound is thin and monotonous. Wattgate wass heavy bass and thats all. but i burn them for like 50 to 60 hours. But initially I did not like any of them except for the PS audio. I just want a solution from some one who as experience and can make my system in harmony. But the R1 name is coming up a lot. So should i go for that. or any other one, thanks

The most neutral receptable I found was Maestro. I have them in my walls and find them excellent.
Thanks for your reply. I like to know how is the sound stage is it like a 3d effect with the Maestro. Thats what I'm aiming at.
That's exactly right...I love that effect as well. If the sound is recorded with the 3D openness that we both like is recorded, the Maestros will let it through. Additionally, I would recommend Magic Tubes..you can get a free pair here http://madscientist-audio.com/presta/
I MEAN IF I PUT A REGULAR CD OR BLURAY WILL I GET A GOOD 3 DIMENTIONAL TYPE SOUND STAGE, INSTEAD OF ONES THAT GIVE VERY LESS SOUNDSTAGE THE MUSIC IS ONLY AROUND THE SPEAKER NO ALL OVER THE ROOM. THANKS
Deepak....to gain focus and a deeper/wider soundstage, you might try re-positioning your loudspeakers. Perhaps they need a bit more toe-in (as just one suggestion). The R-1 does not foreshorten the depth of the soundstage....it increases it front-to-back. What you are experiencing is not "normal" with this outlet, especially for music playback.
I have found over many years that the introduction of a new component, power cable, interconnect, and even a wall outlet changes the "sonic output" and dynamics of the system, which in turn can require the re-positioning of the speakers. In other words, the sonic "envelope" can change, which in turn changes the room acoustic. Therefore, the adjustment of the loudspeakers (even a tiny bit) can address this change for the better.
I have tip toed the speaker there is a difference now. Maybe the receptacle still needs to adjust to my wires from the wall.
Glad you are trying this. Moving your speakers even 1/4" forward will increase the depth of soundstage, moving the speakers slightly wider can enlarge the width of the soundstage, and further adjusting the toe-in (to your ear) will improve the focus and clarity. The R-1 will provide all these things....we just need to optimize our setups from time-to-time.
khullard54,
I hope this will help you.

In a nutshell, the Oyaide SWO-XXX presents vivid clarity with no tonal bloom to speak of, so it tends to be a good fix for a system with too much warmth. The Oyaide R1 while not warm sounding provides denser images, a bigger bottom end, and a more relaxed treble energy. It tends to be a good option for those who seek a neutral tonality, or perhaps to tame a system with a somewhat brittle or bright treble characteristic. YMMV
The older Oyaide SWO-XXX is not as warm as the R1, with lots of clarity. May suit your needs better...

Lew's inmate profile page lists his occupation as a "physician"
(Make sure you find out his "consulting fee" before making any calls to him; I wonder how
he collects his fee whenever he posts here on AA) (No, I'm not a former patient)
Well done! I pride myself in research and background but you get the gold star on this one!

In fact, I am an MD with clinical training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, but my life's work is as a scientist studying viruses. I don't see patients and really never have done so since my hospital training days were completed. However, I do have some direct experience with the scientific method. So, you get my sense of humor free of charge, like it or not.
To be totally honest, I did get your humor in your posting. Not only that ,but you may actually
be on to something !
While ,many of us in this hobby may think it acceptable to not have the amount of mental
clarity we should have, we find it unacceptable that our Audio systems should have this same lack of "clarity"
All that aside, we still enjoy the heck out of our hobby (I'm certain my Audio System stays a
bit healthier than I do; it has an Audio Care Professional looking after it)
As "Buggs" would say "What's up Doc ?"
Thanks Uclestu i will try that right now I'm burning them.
Setting up the receptacle is as important as the receptacle itself. The Wattgate is based on standard US designs and thus one half of the duplex is connected to the other half by a thin slotted piece bridging the two outlets
I routinely jumper over the two halve on both side to increase the current capacity, and then when hooking up the incoming AC, make sure that y0u connect to the opposite inlets.
Picture shows the two different inputs on opposite outlets and you can see the U shaped copper jumper installed between the two outlets. Makes a noticeable difference. Be sure to connect the u shaped jumpers on both sides
Hi Unclestu,
I'd like to invest in good wallplates, here in France we have schukos but i can see that in the US there is more brands for good receptacles and that they are often cheaper especialy for accessories like carbon panels which can be found in china for a few and never the same for schukos.
So maybe I'll instal US plugs for my audio gears!
I see that in the, us receptacles are always duplex: since I have dedicated lines for each gears I'd like to know if it's possible to un-bridge the two plugs in a receptacle and have two separated lines???
Did you try several brands and plating for plugs? How does it sound???
Thanks a lot: David

IM LOOKING FOR THE 3D IMAGING
ENSURE EVERY COMPONENT (CAPACITORS RESISTORS WIRE) IN THE SIGNAL CHAIN IS IDENTICAL LEFT TO RIGHT.
HI I just tried the r1 fully cooked. It sound good but no soundstage like a 3d effect. Which receptacle can give me this effect? I still want clarity and since my system is warm i want something can will not make it warm. How is the Tesla or the Maestro Outlet or any other one that can give me good clarity and 3d soundstage. Thanks
Thanks to all for your messages it was helpful but i trying out the r1. lets see whats happens from there.
