You can find English as well as metric inserts at any woodworking store. If you make a mistake you can easily drill out to the next size ( metric or English). If that's your tweeter cut out, the right facing cut out is for the voice coil wires, If you have a router or a similar tool (roto zip) or even a jig saw, duplicate the cutout on the bottom of the hole so you can rotate the driver 90 degrees.
The voice coil wires add a very slight drag, and having the wires face the midrange will help cancel out some of the overlapping frequencies.
PS if you're drilling to install the inserts, you can reposition the screws to accomplish this
Did that originally on a Triangle and it made a noticeable difference in imaging. Speaker engineers pooh poohed the idea, but it works. In modding speakers I rotate many drivers so that the VC wire align vertically as it also splits the cone into two left-right halves through eigenmodes. Helps left right imaging

Stu,
Unfortunately the size of the basket hole would preclude the use of a larger size of brass insert. Started by mistake with M5-size and the machine screws would not go through the speaker basket hole so M5 threaded inserts could not be reached even if they offered an answer to a previous MDF disaster. Routing and rotating works for those with routing skills.

NICE work DG i wish i could have heard the before and after of your work.
All the best.
