Sondek,
Thanks for the post. Exactly what I was looking for. Here is the story. I bought two Dream State Dreamcatcher 20A PC's used and one was defective. I actually got jolted when I plugged the IEC into my amp. I read that they came standard with P-079 connectors. I thought the sound was too dark but very holographic. I ordered two C-246's. I then opened up the defective PC and discovered that the wires were exposed through rough handling. I also found that they were installed with C-246's. I should have looked before I ordered. I will use them for something else. I am replacing the cheesey IEC's and some internal wiring on my amps and preamp. I will try to use something there to address the sound. I have a bunch of different IEC's (about 8) by IeGO, Furutech and Oyaide. I am also going to use Acrolink 7N4030II for internal wiring on the amp and preamp. I hope the first try is the right one. Thanks again.
Bart

Oyaide P-079 AC plug matched with Oyaide C-246 IEC connector should be ideal. The plating schemes of each connector provide good synergy, not unlike the classic Oyaide SWO-XXX AC outlet mated with an Oyaide P-79 AC plug. The Oyaide C-237 may sound too "Hi-Fi-ish" and bland, with a lackluster midrange characteristic. I wouldn't go that route. YMMV
Duster,
Thanks for the post. I guess you have tried most combos. Do you have any experience with IEC inlets? I have a bunch of flavors. I guess I'll have to experiment, unless the first try is the charm.

I have plenty of experience with various IEC inlets. My favorite is the platinum + palladium plated phosphorous bronze Oyaide Power Inlet R IEC inlet.
It comes with the gold quick-disconnects, but you don't have to use them. In most cases I prefer to direct-solder internal AC wiring to the IEC inlet.
Sonically very neutral and coherent. It mates well with all IEC connectors I've used with it, especially the Oyaide C-004 Beryllium IEC connector with the same plating scheme. Gold plated Furutech IEC inlets are excellent if you seek a warmer sounding sonic signature.
I have one of those too. I think I am going to try it on my DNA Stratus headphone amp. I am going to try the IeGO 4 nines solid silver IEC on my Symphonic Line preamp and two Furutech FI-33 20A IEC inlets on my Symphonic Line 300 Kraft monos. Still haven't decided whether to use the gold or rhodium FI-33. I have both. I will do the amps last and decide which to use when I hear which way the sound needs to move.

Hi,
I've heard very good reports about silver plated copper or pure silver connectors wich are said very neutral and improving all the bandwith witout being bright sounding
