Just wanted to pass my experience on to others. Been thinking about building new speaker cables out of silver but skin effect of thick wire worried me. I had a stash of vampire occ magnet wire different gauges. I started with 2 plus 2 negative 24 gauge. Fast open sound but thin week bass. Then started adding wire to get the bass and fullness that was missing. I think there is an advantage to thin wire to gain speed and coherence but you will need several strands to achieve a balance full sound 4 to 6 per leg. My wires are just twisted together I don't like the sound of woven wires. Just my taste. I will put the silver on hold for now as this is pretty good right now. Hope this helps others.

So if you use fullrange drivers don't forget to attach directly you speaker cable to the drivers poles! Remove loudspeakers binding posts: you'll increase clarity a lot!
"I don't like the sound of woven wires"
Me too it shrinks soundstage and kills air around insruments and singers
