Try a band around the end just before the connector at the load. Try 3/8" wide. Works best on non shielded cords.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your help
Well 1cm long before the barrel at the amplifier input: is that right?
What about the distance between the center (conductor) and the ers collar?
Do you have advice to use ers on loudspeaker and power cable?
Have a good WE: David
Yes, I had noticeable improvement at the amp end of the I.C. on the cable just before the connector. It is funny stuff. It works great in some places and not it others. Nickel and Mu metal is another tweak to consider on cables. Time and experimentation required. I use a paint on concoction I came up with on the interior of AC outlets and AC cord plugs to combat RF and to add a bit of dampening.
specs can be found on www.stillpoints.us.
ERS is a broadband absorber of EMI and RFI, developed from the US stealth technology.
Proper use means a careful look at the sources of RFI from your system.
If George Cardas is correct, precious metals, gold and silver , are extremely soft and will bind and gall upon insertion. If you look at at an end after a couple of insertions you will see many minute scratches.
These scratches will lift the mating surfaces and leave tiny gaps through which some claim a signal can arc creating RFI.
Thus wrapping the ends would probably be the best location. A layer of copper tape would also be good over the ERS
One note, and this concerns many newer digital machines. Designers often place a correction circuit in the analog output stages. You can readily identify this circuit because it is basically zobel network: a resister and capacitor from positive to ground on each channel.
If you have applied ERS to the digital and processing chips and find the sound too rolled off, simply lift the end of this zobel. The designer has elected to roll off the top end to squash any high frequency anomalies.
Seen this on Regas, CJ's, Esoteric and many others
Hi Stu,
Btw, could you tell me where and how much sleeve you use in your system?
Hi Stu,
I made 2 sleeves but I had only one tailpiece per sleeve (too difficult to find in my country)
I had ony 2 ers sheets so that is sleeve with only 2 layers ERS and 3 layers
copper.
I have pure nickel foil so to make a second tailpiece effect I'll try to wrapp one layer (maybe more tell me?) around my diy work.
After one day I can hear a serious improvement: more focus and delineated instruments with a more punchy sound!
Great tweek!
By the Way, I have try to put it around preamp tubes: same effect so as a friend of mine told me: shielding magneticaly tubes is a very good thing!!! You should try it and mabe implement orange led in it...
Thanks a lot!!!
