DTS ma 7.2,
The high pitched whine in my little iTube buffer was caused by vibration successfully damped by Teflon tape wrapped around the tube bakelite and Marigo Audio White DTS Dots on the tube stages/ holder assembly. Do not know if this is relevant to your situation but you can always find out by testing the effect of the Teflon tape at very low cost.

disconnect the SDA cable between the two Polks and see if that is the problem. Some amps can't be used with SDA. Common ground is required on the power amp. I have a spare set of 1A's w/new tweeters, upgraded gold bananas and the inside wiring is now all Kimber 4TC. They are also real oak veneer, not vinyl as most were. You can get them pretty cheap.
