A pot only about 2 years old is still noisy after using Caig D5. Any suggestions other than replacement, Tech Spay Blue Shower?? Is Caig D5 safe on a 20 year old amp (plactic safe??) Thanks, Tweaker
Follow Ups:
sometimes this can be caused by DC across the pot - so a good idea to stick a multimeter across the pot and check. I am sure that Caig is safe on a 20 year old amp. They have been around a while now.
I used Caig (Hosa) D100 not D5, which was recommended by Caig. I hugely improved the sound but did not fix the scratching. I had some MG Chemicals Electrosolve around that I never used and it worked like a charm. So it seems that Caig spray leaves something to be desired for cleaning dirty pots. Tweaker
After seeing Craig and other products turn to varnish after some time, I now stick with MG Chemicals 801 B and it works better than they do anyway.
+1 on the DC issue, may have a coupling cap.
